Historical Notes
2000: Prior Contempt

During the year 2000, I began my political cartooning career at The Skanner, a local African-American newspaper where I was employed as a graphic designer, at the request of Lloyd Woods, who was then the managing editor. Alternating weeks with another cartoonist, I produced a cartoon every other Wednesday. It was a good learning experience, very nice to see oneself published, and the $15 I got for each 'toon was good for a few beers. Along the way, I honed my cartooning chops, developed my style and soon found my voice. Some of these cartoons still make me laugh. Time will tell if I should still regret the "Survivor" reference.

That said, permission is not hard to get. Drop me a line.
