Disaster Porn
Running late today, thanks to lumbar strain. Oh, the trials and twibuwations of a po widdle cartoonist.
Anyhoo, the situation in Haiti is terrible. The moment-by-moment coverage is necessary for awareness, getting aid delivered, and keeping track of developments. But the impoverished conditions Haitians struggle with day-to-day, earthquake or not, deserve sustained coverage and CONTEXT. That seems beyond the capabilities of the modern mainstream media.
Heads up: Next week’s cartoon will be the LAST cartoon strip for In Contempt. I will talk about it more then, as well as my plans for the site. But I wanted to keep y’all posted.

Well that sucks. I’m so totally sulking at you right now! You won’t quit Twitter as well, will you?

Not to get all Brokeback Mountain, but I wish I could quit Twitter. Alas, I am hooked. The snark never dies, it just twits away.

Oh say it ain’t so!!! You are one of the few few voices of intelligent outrage coming from the US, I hope you aren’t giving up on the whole medium. Such talent should not be squandered….
Best wishes…

Aww, you guys! Making me all gushy and blushy!
Thank you, farwalker. Don’t worry – I am not renouncing cartooning altogether. Just doing new things. More on that next week!
