Jobless Recovery Success Stories
Jesus on a pogo stick, I drew Sarah Palin again. Seriously, this has got to stop. But her parallel bizarro world keeps having consequences on our own real world, like the recent push against a moderate Republican congressional candidate in New York State. I don’t know how they do things in big ol’ Alaska, but most of the Republicans I knew in New York were of the moderate kind. They don’t need no carpet-bagging movement conservatives coming from outside and interfering. Hence, Scozzafava’s endorsement of her former Democratic rival.
Anyhoo, Palin’s continued presence in political life – including her $1.25 million ghost-written memoir – goes against logic and decency. As does Maurice Greenberg’s resurgence on Wall Street, the Barney Frank “TARP on steroids” bill, and the carrion-devouring take-overs that make folks like Warren Buffett only more powerful.
UPDATE: Aww, even The Palin has limits. New York’s 23rd rejected her endorsed conservative candidate and elected the first Democrat to win that seat since, um, before the Civil War. Michael Steele may brush this off, but it should be apparent that the major Republican wins last night in Virginia and New Jersey were by moderates responding to local politics. However, so long as the movement conservatives have Maine to crow about, they won’t notice that voters are rejecting their bullshit.

Very nice of the ad server to place a Newsmax ad on your page. I held my noise and voted in their totally unscientific poll, “Is Obama a Socialist”. Of course the results are massively tilted by the wing-nut readership.
I’m still trying to figure out how the losses of two unpopular governors is “an astonishing loss” for Obama.
As if this country is ever going to be really progressive!

Google ads has been putting a lot of NewsMax ads on my site. I thought I had ‘em blocked, but I’m too lazy to check. And the irony is too sweet. “Is Obama a Socialist?” should be my next cartoon, just to register an unqualified “FUCK NO!”

I hope to see that cartoon soon. You know I live in the heart of Scaife country? F’n Tribune-Review is here in my armpit of an America town. The bumper of my car is all scratched up from morons kicking at the “Fire The Republicans” bumper sticker. I watch people walk by and read it. The scowls on their faces are hilarious. I can understand though. I see thousands of old Bush/Cheney stickers and MCCain/Palin polluting my field of view every time I go somewhere. I have a strong urge to just floor the gas and rear-end the bastards. I’m not a Democrat by any way, shape or form (those self-serving weasel pricks) but I think it should be legal to club an ignorant Repug into even more senselessness.

So, your party elects a conservative democrat with the help of conservative republicans over some conservative teabagger. And this, to you, is a big win.
Ooooookay.

Whooaaa! Slow down, there, pardner. I never said the Dems were MY party. Pox on both their corporatist houses, I say. But it is good to see a moderate philosophy of politics overcome a right wing reactionary one. It’s not a “big win” but a little relief. Corporate neo-liberals piss me off, but right wingers are fucking dangerous.

Oh. Okay. I’m kinda new around here.
Well, hurrah for the lesser-evil then.
