Continuum of Misplaced Skepticism
It’s hot, so I will make this short. I don’t think I need to source the birther nuttiness, nor the 9/11 truther squad; they’re pretty well covered these days.
Here’s Neal Cavuto on the “danger” of Muslim doctors in socialized health care.
This particular conspiracy theory is not as well known, because this discussion occurred a couple years ago. Yet it represents the kind of fear-mongering and racism typical of FOXNews, the overheated rhetoric of opponents of either single-payer or “public option” health care. Underlying the disingenuousness is a play upon the conspiracy-minded fears of its audience.
Concurrent with the rise of the birther controversy last week, the US celebrated the moon-landing. I was surprised to hear Whoopi Goldberg lending credence to the idiots who insist it was all a fake.
