Perhaps it is unfair of me to lump “Obama Girl” with Sam “Joe (Not a) Plumber (Nor a) War Correspondent” Wurzelbacher and She Who Can’t Stop Talking. After all, Amber Lee Ettinger works hard at a job she is actually qualified for, shows some competence, and can elicit an intended laugh. Her phenomenon still makes me wince.

While I regret the return of Sarah Palin to my little corner of the Web, please note that this cartoon the first appearance of the so-called “Plumber” in my work. I hope it’s the last.
