Obama and Conservatives

Barack Obama's views on the so-called "Social Security Crisis" have been famously criticized by Paul Krugman. Nonetheless I think Krugman also overstates Obama's real positions, which really boils down to getting rid of the social security payment cap on incomes over $97,500. He opposes privatization, he doesn't want to throw it into the stock market. You can read more about it here.

But no one to my knowledge has gone after him for his accomodationist position on nuclear energy. I think it's safe to manufacture, safely disposible nor energy efficient. It's a bad solution.

As for the Reagan "transformative" thing - it's the same sophistry that holds that Hitler was an "effective leader." Well, yes. But it's the effect itself that bothers us so much, you see. Paul Krugman, again, deals with this latest spat of Obama glibness.

Er… you mean “it isn’t” safe to manufacture etc, don’t you?

It isn’t safe, you’re right. Thanks for the correction.
